Start with the care already specified

Fiskars directs wiping the everyday bypass pruner clean after use and lightly oiling its blade. S2U directs cleaning, drying and storing its pruner locked. Those instructions answer routine ownership questions without assuming that every coated blade needs the same product or method.

Washing permission is also model-specific. GardenSharp allows soap-and-water or dishwasher cleaning of the sharpener, and Fiskars Herb Scissors have their own dishwasher-safe claim. These are instructions for those items, rather than a general treatment for leather holders or every pruning blade.

Choose included spares or an exact service reference

S2U explicitly supplies a spare blade, spring, lock, screw and washer with its pruner. FELCO’s serviceable models use separately identified repair references: F2 lists blade 2/3, adjustment key 2/30 and spring kit 2/91; the F31 parts list identifies blade 30/3 with washer, spring kit 30/91 and anvil 31/4 with screws.

Keep the tool model and part code together. A blade for a similarly shaped pruner, or a number from another FELCO model, is not a confirmed substitute. Corona also lists blade 3180-1 and other components for BP3180D. None of these separately listed service references means extra parts are supplied in the pruner package. For AL8462, Corona lists 8462-1 for AL83XX/84XX orchard-lopper versions with or without the nut-retaining clip; use that part description and receiving model together.

Match sharpening to the blade instructions

FELCO 903 is a diamond-coated hardened-steel sharpening tool for the named pruning-shear, lopper and cable-cutter edges. FELCO advises slight pressure and directs users to the tool’s own instruction card or online guidance for angle and technique. No one numeric angle is supplied for every blade.

GardenSharp has reversible tungsten-carbide sharpening inserts and names a range of single-edged garden tools. That is a different maintenance-tool format, not a supplied replacement pruning blade. Before servicing saw teeth or a special edge, use that exact blade’s instructions rather than borrowing a secateur-sharpening procedure.

Choose carrying space around the exact tool

ARS ACC-LPHP7 names HP-120S7, HP-VS7Z/V7Z, HP-130DX and HP-140DX. Use that receiving-model information instead of assuming a 7-inch label fits every pruner. FELCO 910+ offers loop or clip belt mounting and a separate slot described for a 903 sharpener beside the pruning tool. The ARS photograph shows two belt slots and a central clip, providing another attachment layout to compare. Confirm the required belt width; the image does not establish that measurement.

That extra slot is useful when you want the maintenance tool to travel with the pruner. The holder itself does not supply either tool. Compare the mounting arrangement and named fit before buying, and obtain holder-specific care if a leather treatment or cleaning method matters; no conditioning recipe is supplied here.

Questions before choosing

The anvil is the part I need for my FELCO 31. Which reference is actually named?

FELCO’s F31 parts list names 31/4 anvil with screws. Its blade and spring references are 30/3 and 30/91. Keep the model-specific part identity with the order; these are separate service purchases.

I want to carry a pruner and a 903 sharpener together. What holder should I compare?

FELCO 910+ explicitly describes a slot for the 903 beside its pruner space, with loop or clip mounting. Choose it for that carrying arrangement, while buying the tools separately and confirming the actual pruner fit.

What angle should I use with FELCO 903?

Follow the actual pruning tool’s instruction card or model guidance. The 903 maker page advises slight pressure and refers to those instructions for angle and technique, rather than supplying one numeric angle for all blades.

I use an ARS HP-140DX. Which pouch here actually names that model?

ARS ACC-LPHP7 lists HP-140DX, alongside HP-120S7, HP-VS7Z/V7Z and HP-130DX. That explicit list is more useful than choosing from the pouch’s 7-inch title alone.
